Welcome to our Internet Exhibition

We are full-time artists/sculptors living in Golden Bay. For over 20 years we have exhibited in New Zealand and our artworks are now held in collections worldwide. We own and operate the Art & Gourd Gallery at Tangmere Road, Takaka. The gallery is open daily from 1 November to 30 April. Other times by telephoning first....

The images on this internet exhibition are a selection of the artworks from our gallery.

The environments of Nelson, Abel Tasman National Park and Golden Bay where we live, provide most of the inspiration for our artworks. Landscapes, figures, faces and birds appear in our work.

Lorraine

Lorraine is a full time artist and sculptor living in Golden Bay.  For over 20 years she has exhibited in New Zealand and her artwork and sculptures are now held in collections worldwide. Her contemporary paintings reflect the colours and landscapes of the region.

She sculpts mainly in marble and has six public sculptures — the largest being 'Two Birds of Peace,' two three tonne marble birds commissioned by the Tasman District Council in Richmond.

In sculpture she uses flowing lines and rounded shapes to convey the subject.  Her influence comes from the natural environment, from the small shells and driftwood on the beaches to the sculptural rocky outcrops of limestone and marble on the Takaka Hill and elsewhere.  Bird forms have always been a feature for her artworks.

Trevor

"I sculpt in marble and riverstone and have been growing and decorating gourds since 1984. Every gourd has its own unique shape and through design and colour I express it's individuality."

Please take time to enjoy the artworks in our Internet exhibition. When in Golden Bay, visit the Art & Gourd Gallery to view more of our artworks.
